LAAND (Lawrence All-Ages Noise Destination) is a cooperatively-run arts organization in Lawrence, KS. Our aim is to create an open, supportive, and culturally vibrant space and foster a DIT (do-it-together) community through music concerts, experiential learning, and volunteer opportunities for all ages.
We strive to create meaningful and memorable events that are unique to Lawrence. Since 2017, we have been hosting music events primarily at the White Schoolhouse in North Lawrence. LAAND is registered as a 501(c)(3) non-profit.
Provide safe and accessible shows for people of all ages, particularly those who have not traditionally felt at home in typical dark-bar music venues – whether because of their age, race, sex, gender identity, or simply due to their desire to experience art and music free of the distractions common to a standard club venue.
Recognize the importance of representation and prioritize booking women, non-binary, queer, and POC musicians.
Provide opportunities – particularly for teenagers – to learn skills associated with professional music and events production.
Make our city of Lawrence a compelling stop for touring musicians by putting on shows in unique and unusual venues.
Highlight and foster our local music culture by giving local bands opportunities to open shows and network with touring musicians.
Build permanent infrastructure and support systems for local and touring musicians.
Have a good time, all the time.
